(Resolved) 2018-11-02 09:30 (UTC) Service degradation affecting "Shanghai, China (China Telecom)" Cloud Agent

Last updated: Fri Nov 02 12:47:00 GMT 2018

The "Shanghai, China (China Telecom)" Cloud Agent was temporarily unavailable. The event was detected and resolved by our service reliability team.

Affected scope

During the event, the "Shanghai, China (China Telecom)" Cloud Agent was running but it did not have access to the internet and, therefore, to the rest of the ThousandEyes platform. The data was still being collected and cached locally during that period and it was subsequently uploaded to the platform. Since the access to the internet was interrupted, the affected data does not represent a realistic view of the network conditions from Shanghai location around the outlined timeframe. The data shows DNS errors for DNS-based test targets and network connectivity errors for IP-based test targets.

Due to the delay with which the affected data was submitted into the platform, our alerting subsystem ignored it and did not generate any alerts based on this data.

All other Cloud Agents are not affected by this event.
