Forward Thousand Eye Alerts to Big Panda
Big Panda has a generic Rest API Webhook Capability. The WebHook Response needs a custom header. curl -XPOST -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer MYAPIKEYFORCUSTOMER" \ https://api.bigpanda.io/data/v2/alerts \ -d '{ "app_key": "myAPPlicationAPIKeyCHanged", "status": "critical", "host": "production-database-1", "check": "CPU overloaded" }' Can i get the ability to specify a custom header when setting up the webhook?

"Free Text" box in Tests
• We’re interested in a free entry text box (at least 1024 characters, all alpha/numeric/symbols from a standard US Keyboard available) which would be associated with each specific test. • We’d want to be able to change the text entered in the box at any time to adjust what information is in the box. • We’d like this to be available through the API so that we can access the text we’d entered into the text box from our tools.

Ability to sort alerts in the test edit screen
When editing a test via the UI, when you expand the alerts it would be helpful to be able to choose the option to show selected alerts the same as we can do with agents. The agent drop down to choose select agents makes it easy to see what agents are active for a test within the edit screen and the same function for the selected alerts would be great instead of having to scroll through the entire list of alerts to find which are checked.

Add Generic REST Alert

Calculate RTT / km as additional network metric
It would be nice to have round trip time to distance metric in order to verify ISP SLAs (usually 75ms per 1500 miles) Distance would probably have to be taken from MaxMind database. If that value goes close or above the speed of light it would be good indication of incorrect IP geolocation.

Selecting more than one data round in the test timeline
Would like to have the possibility of selecting more than one data round in the timeline, let’s say from few rounds up to 24h, and see the average metrics computed directly in the test/timeline view, based on the selected time spam. At the moment the test timeline only allow to select one data round, and see the metrics related to that round only. This is something that can currently be achieved in Reports, hence it's posted here as a new idea for discussion.

Cloud Agent Mainland China
It would be nice to see a cloud agent available inside mainland China. A large majority of challenges of doing business within China is the "great Chinese firewall" and the intermitant nature of network access. It would be interesting to have a data point to compare between a circuit we purchase at an office in China vs a Cloud agent inside a colocation facility.

Schedule day and time of tests
I would like to see a feature where we could schedule the day's and time's for tests to run. There are some services that I know will go down every night at certain times for maintenance so there isn't a lot of value to be running these tests during these maintenance windows.

Assign Test Templates/Groups to Groups of Agents
Allowing groups of tests to be assigned to groups of agents would reduce management overhead for complex/large deployments with many tests. The objective would be to make test groups "templates" that can be applied to groups of agents. For example... App1 is used at SiteA and SiteB (grouped as "App1 Sites") App2 is used at SiteB, SiteC, and SiteD (grouped as "App2 Sites") I have 4 tests for App1 (grouped as "App1 Tests") and 3 tests for App2 (grouped as "App2 Tests") If I could link...

Group together tests
If you need to run multiple tests for a single IP/URL, being able to group them together under one title would be nice. For example, having a retail store need to have a web test for employees accessing their self-service portal and also needing to monitor their circuit. You don't want two separate tests named for that one store in a sample of 30 or more stores that you will be monitoring, especially when each store would have those same two tests running. It should be easier to find the name...

Importing Multiple Tests from Excel/.CSV
Create a template that can be used to have all of the information needed for creating tests, so if you have say have more than 100 IPs and/or URLs that need to be monitored, it's not an overly tedious process to add a test for each one, especially if you need to run multiple tests per IP/URL.

Include 'Target' in payload for webhook data sent
Currently there is no way to know what the actual target in the test is that was tested and found an alert condition. I know what its related to via "Test Name" but i don't have a way to know that it was 'https.google.com' that was being tested. Please add the information for 'target' to the data sent from an outbound webhook.

Add a way to ignore unrelated domains from blocking transaction test completion
Say I have a tracking pixel on my homepage. If I'm scripting my homepage with the transaction test, if that tracking pixel times out, it will fail the entire step in the transaction, even though the content of the page loads. I don't care too much about the tracking pixel, at least not in the sense that it should set off an alert that wakes me up at night. Let me specify which domains I care about having things load.

Allow increased increased frequency of checks during failure conditions
Currently if you have an alert triggered by X failures in a row from the same agent, it takes X times interval time to trigger the alert. This prevents the use of longer intervals such as 15 or 60 minutes, as the time to trigger an alert would then be very long. It would be nice to have the ability to set a temporary more frequent test interval once certain failure conditions are met. This would speed up alert notifications, and alert resolution after the underlying service has recovered. T...

Add "Next Run/Start" to tests
I am looking for the ability to easily know when a test will run next. This is important to us since tests can have varying intervals when they run, and their "clock" starts when you create the test. All tests are running at different times, based on their interval setting. In the test details as well as the tests column view, it would be awesome to know when a test is scheduled to run again. Either place it in the "tests" section or expose the internal scheduling table that is used by Thou...

Add filtering capability to API - agent list
It would be awesome when requesting the "agent list" using the API: https://api.thousandeyes.com/v6/agents.json ---> I would be able to pass parameters to filter the list by specific types of agents, such as "agentType", "countryCode" or "enabled". It would save code and processing time to have to loop through a JSON output to find those records we are looking for. Thanks!

Log public keys presented for invalid SSL/TLS sites
When running enterprise agents that may encounter signed x.509 certificates from private enterprise certificate authorities, it would be very helpful to log the full certification chain for any invalid certificate encountered in testing. A checkbox to enable "Log Invalid SSL/TLS Certificate Chains" would be ideal for people who need it, and not impose a burden on those who do not. Or "Log SSL/TLS Certificate Chains" for everything.

agent accounting report
The report generation tool seems limiting or not intuitive enough for me. I'd like to be able to simply define the columns and not be limited by the current menu system. I'd like to simply create a report for internal accounting purposes - listing agent name, location, agent label, n-column from a list of available columns?

Present TCP options as additional metric for TCP network tests
I would like to propose presenting TCP options available on the target host. I thought about adding one more metric next to packet loss, latency and jitter but other forms of presentation would be good too. Typically some network devices (web servers, firewalls, etc) may switch to SYN-COOKIE mode during extensive syn-floods. While working in SYN-COOKIE mode the only available TCP option is MSS, the other TCP options are dropped which has impact on connection quality. Therefore monitoring if...

distinct alert timestamp for when alert is created
Tests have a start time and an end time. When the criteria matches, an alert is created using the start time as the time of the alert. When using the API, alerts will be missed because of the above back-dating. For example, calling the API every 5 minutes will miss seeing an alert that takes more than 5 minutes to meet the criteria. Having an "alert created" specific timestamp avoids the overhead of searching for back-dated alerts.

Capture user-introduced delays in Endpoint Agent recordings
As it stands now, when reviewing Endpoint Agent traces, there is no way to tell if pauses/delays seen in the recording are actually user induced (javascript waiting for input perhaps) or browser induced (javascript doing a bunch of things before loading the next element). It would be useful if Endpoint Agent would capture the *types* of user inputs in the trace (mouse click on element, keyboard entry, etc) so that it would be more obvious in a recording that the delays we are seeing are/are ...

Be able to customize coloring of nodes in path visualization
Currently, path visualization colors nodes differently depending on the subnet of the source and target networks. In some situations there are more networks on the path (besides the target's prefix block) that are actually part of our organization. Ideally we should be able to have them painted in the same color as the target network, or on a custom color if possible.

[S-CS-0021603] Implement consistent DNS name resolution for Web and network tests
If you refer to the shared test which shows DNS failover https://rjpmkad.share.thousandeyes.com you can observe that on "Path Visualisation" / table target IP varies and can be either 159.220.11.131 or 159.220.5.131. It looks like name resolution for web servers is incorrect. The idea is to implement t...

Add a confirmation mechanism when enabling/disabling a test using the checkbox
Add a confirmation mechanism when enabling/disabling a test using the checkbox. This would increase the amount of clicks needed to complete the enable/disable operations, but enabling or disabling many tests at once is extremely rare situation so the impact should be limited. On the other hand, accidentally click the tick-box could happen and that would cause a test to erroneously gets enabled/disabled.
